Partner Privacy Policy — CallerAPI
This page explains how CallerAPI LC receives and processes data sent by mobile
applications that integrate with CallerAPI ("Partner Apps"). Partners should link to this page in their apps'
legal section so users understand that certain data is shared with CallerAPI.
1. Introduction
This Partner Privacy Policy explains how CallerAPI LC ("CallerAPI," "we," "us," or "our")
receives and processes personal data that Partner Apps share with us to provide spam detection,
caller identification, and related services. If you use a Partner App that integrates with CallerAPI, that app
may send certain information to CallerAPI as described below.
2. Roles and Relationship
- Independent Controllers (Default): Unless otherwise agreed in writing, CallerAPI acts as an
independent controller for personal data it receives from Partner Apps, determining its own purposes and
means
for processing to provide and improve its services.
- Alternative Processor Arrangement (If Agreed): If CallerAPI and a Partner have executed a
Data Processing Addendum (DPA) making CallerAPI a processor (or service provider) for specified data, then
CallerAPI processes that data on the Partner's documented instructions for the scope covered by the DPA.
3. Information We Receive from Partner Apps
Depending on the Partner App's integration and the permissions you grant within that app, CallerAPI may receive:
- Spam Report Data: phone numbers involved in calls (caller/callee), timestamps, call
direction (incoming/outgoing), call duration, call outcome, network/operator metadata, user-submitted
labels, categories (e.g., spam/scam/telemarketing), comments, and whether a call was blocked or allowed.
- Device and Technical Data (as provided by the Partner App): device identifiers (e.g.,
advertising ID, vendor ID), IP
address, OS and app version, language, time zone, coarse location (country/region), diagnostics and crash
data, and performance metrics.
- Contact/Caller ID Signals (if enabled in the Partner App): limited address book references
or hashes,
caller name strings, and related metadata strictly to improve spam detection and caller identification.
Where required, the Partner App will prompt for your explicit consent.
- Account and Support Data: email address or account identifier if you create an account or
contact support.
4. Sources of Information
- Partner Apps: information transmitted to CallerAPI by Partner Apps you use.
- Service Providers: limited information from vendors supporting our security, analytics,
reliability, and operations.
- Public/Third-Party Sources: supplemental signals and datasets used to improve detection
quality and coverage.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve spam filtering, caller identification, and call blocking features within the
App.
- Submit spam reports and caller identification signals to CallerAPI and receive responses from CallerAPI's
live API and/or daily spam reports to enhance our in-App protections.
- Detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud, spam, and abuse; ensure network and service integrity.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
- Perform analytics, quality assurance, and product development (including the creation of aggregate and
anonymized statistics).
6. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information as follows:
- To CallerAPI LC: spam reports, caller ID signals, and related technical data so CallerAPI
can provide and improve its anti-spam and caller identification services, including sharing derived spam
intelligence with telecommunications carriers, dialers, and other customers to help protect end users from
unwanted calls.
- Service Providers: vendors who assist with hosting, analytics, crash reporting, support,
and security (under confidentiality obligations and limited to necessary purposes).
- Legal Compliance and Safety: to law enforcement or other parties when required by law or to
protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the App and services.
- Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
7. Legal Bases (where applicable)
Where laws like the GDPR apply, we process personal data based on:
- Consent: for access to contacts, device permissions, and certain analytics or marketing
activities where required.
- Legitimate Interests: to provide and improve anti-spam features, maintain security, and
prevent abuse, balanced against your rights and expectations.
- Legal Obligations: to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Contract: where processing is necessary to provide requested features.
8. Your Choices and Controls
- Permissions: manage device and App permissions within the Partner App and your OS settings.
- Opt-Out: you may disable CallerAPI-related features in the Partner App or uninstall the
Partner App to stop further data sharing with CallerAPI.
- Marketing: CallerAPI does not use Partner-submitted data to deliver targeted advertising.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the App's features, comply with legal obligations,
resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We may retain aggregated or anonymized data for longer for research
and
service improvement.
10. International Transfers
We disclose data to CallerAPI in the United States
(Casper, Wyoming). Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses)
for cross-border transfers.
11. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access,
loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children and is not intended for individuals under the age required by applicable law
(e.g., 13 in the U.S., 16 in parts of the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from such individuals.
13. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your
personal data, and to object or request portability. To exercise your rights, you may contact your Partner App
provider and/or contact CallerAPI directly at support[at]callerapi.com.
14. Do Not Track / "Sale" or "Sharing" Disclosures (U.S.)
- Do Not Track: the App does not respond to DNT signals.
- Sale/Sharing: we do not sell your personal information. We disclose data to CallerAPI to
provide anti-spam and caller ID services; this is not cross-context behavioral advertising.
