Spam number check: who called you, and why
A spam number check for any phone number. See how many people reported it, what the call was about, and whether a machine dialed.
What the result tells you
Every result page answers the same four questions. The counts come from consumer complaint records, not from other visitors' searches.
-
Reports and subjects
How many people reported the number and what they said the call was about. Imposter and debt subjects mean the caller lied about who they were. Warranty, medical and advertising subjects mean a sales pitch.
-
Robocall share
How many of those calls were recorded messages. A high share means a machine dialed you, not a person.
-
Line type and region
Both come from the numbering plan, so every valid number gets them. A business name appears when the number is listed in a business directory.
-
Forged caller ID
A number that cannot exist in any numbering plan is marked as forged. Nobody can be assigned it, so the call was spoofed.

Who called me from this number?
Most unknown calls fall into a few groups. Debt collectors and lead generators call from rotating numbers. Delivery, bank and clinic calls come from fixed business lines that show a name here. Scam calls often use a number that fails the numbering plan check.
The result page also shows how long the reports have been coming in and how many states they came from. A number reported across many states for months is a campaign, not a wrong number.
Report a number
Every result page has a report form. Pick the type of call and add a sentence about what happened. Your report joins the complaint record for that number and helps the next person who checks it. No account is needed.

WarnCall
Stop the call before it rings
Checking a number after the call tells you what you missed. WarnCall, the CallerAPI consumer app, uses the same complaint records to block reported numbers on your phone.
Run a carrier, CPaaS or VoIP network?
The same records power the spam call blocking API for live verdicts and the call blocking SDK for your own app. The spam phone number database delivers them to your switch for blocking at the network edge.
